Since I started as a digital designer back in 2012, I have wanted to create products that not only look visually stimulating but also have meaning, satisfy business goals and most fundamentally, work for the user. Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much about visual design as well as creating products that bring joy and create value for users, but my willingness to learn and build my knowledge for our industry will never yield.
In my previous employment I went above and beyond the call of duty to deliver high level projects for some large companies such as City Football Club, Dr Martins, The National Railway Museum and AO.com. My endeavour within these projects lead to me becoming Head of Design and taking on the lead on all creative and digital output from the agency. This responsibility gave me a completely new set of skills and changed my focus from not only concentrating on my own output, but working with and supporting my colleagues to achieve great products and designs.
I strive to create digital products that create value and clarity, to use strategy and insights to inform and define designs. I want to challenge myself, become a UX and UI design leader, champion the value that a collaborative and user-focussed approach can bring to an agency and solve user problems.
I’ve been given the opportunity to share my digital knowledge and been able to integrate processes that have seen projects thrive. I’ve streamlined workflows to bring clarity and creating products that work, integrating rapid prototyping and user testing early to gain insight and make for more efficient projects.
My experience spans both digital and print, but my specialism is digital design, user experience design and branding.
The variety of experience throughout both digital and creative design has facilitated and strengthened my endeavour to achieve and learn more as a designer and as a head of design. I hope to progress my skill set and career, creating work that is varied, captivating and engaging.
